The Banff Pork Seminar is a much-anticipated event for Canada’s pork industry, a meeting place for producers, industry partners, and researchers. Swine Innovation Porc (SIP) is hosting a pre-seminar event on January 7, 2025, focusing on collaborative research efforts, aiming to bridge the gap between research and real-world applications.

This session will feature presentations on cutting-edge research, including pork quality by Dr. Manuel Juarez from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. Attendees will also experience a live technology demonstration showcasing new developments in pork quality.

A panel discussion with experts including Drs. Yolande Seddon (University of Saskatchewan), Chantal Farmer (AAFC) and Martin Nyachoti (University of Manitoba) will emphasize the value of collaboration across sectors and the role of research in solving industry challenges in the research areas of animal welfare, nutrition, and productivity.

This event is designed to encourage interaction between researchers and industry professionals, fostering a dynamic two-way exchange of ideas. Collaboration is key to turning research into actionable insights and driving progress in the Canadian pork industry.

Don’t miss this valuable opportunity to connect, learn, and contribute to the future of the Canadian pork industry. Register by January 3rd at www.swineinnovationporc.ca/registration.

“SIP is hosting a research-focused event ahead of the Banff Pork Seminar to bring our partners together to showcase and to celebrate the work that's happening in Canada's pork research community. It's all about getting knowledge into the hands of Canadian industry. And it's also a way to help researchers build bridges and connections back to the industry.”-Daniel Ramage
