Consultations with partners and stakeholders have highlighted a growing enthusiasm to collaborate more closely than ever, exploring new synergies and strategies for future research investments. The launch of Swine Cluster 4 demonstrates the power of collaborative research in addressing the priorities and challenges facing the industry.
Daniel Ramage, General Manager of Swine Innovation Porc, emphasizes that fostering these partnerships is key to positioning the industry to meet future challenges and seize opportunities. By harnessing the expertise of Canada’s world-class researchers, the Canadian pork sector can enhance its competitive edge while ensuring sustainable growth for years to come.
Ramage also notes that with the release of the 2023-24 annual report, exciting initiatives are underway to disseminate practical research insights to Canadian pork producers and the broader industry. The priorities set out in SIP’s new strategic plan are aimed at maximizing the impact of collaborative research, while driving Canadian competitiveness globally and increasing efficiency and profitability back to the farm gate.
